Who made the universe?
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Nehemiah 9:6 Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.
Notice God made everything in the universe as well as the universe.
How long did it take God to make the universe?
Exodus 20:11a For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day:
Were these six days literal days or figurative days?
Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Notice that this day had an evening and morning. It had to be literal days.
How did the human race get started?
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
What were the first two people’s names?
Genesis 3:20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
Eve is the mother of the whole human race.
Who did Adam and Eve’s children marry?
Genesis 5:4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
They had to marry each other. There was no one else on earth.
Why do the foremost scientist today say that the earth evolved over billions of years? This contradicts the Bible teaching of Creation.
There are several reasons for this. The first thing to understand is that God has allowed good and evil to be in our world. God wants us to choose the good, but God gives us the choice of evil.
God also has allowed evil supernatural forces to influence people. These evil supernatural forces entice people with the choice of evil, and God offers the choice of good.
Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
The belief that the world came into existence apart from God is a choice made by people who choose not to believe in God. There is scientific evidence that God exists and that the Bible is true. There are several Christian organizations that do scientific research based on a view that believes that the Bible is true. A few of these organizations are Answers in Genesis, the Institute for Creation Research, and Creation Today. It is intriguing to see some of the amazing things that these organizations have uncovered.
I believe that God will one day punish the wicked and reward the righteous. God cares about you and wants you to learn about Him. He wants to forgive you for the wrongs that you have done. There is a meaning and purpose to this life, and God has planned it all. (To learn about God’s plan of forgiveness see my other posts God’s Kingdom is Free , What is Faith?, and God Cares About You.)
Dear friend, I believe God created us for his pleasure. I believe that there is life after death. I believe that every man will give an account of his actions to the God who created him. I believe that we can know who God is by reading the Bible.
You have a choice. Believe the Bible, or believe what other’s say.
What is your choice?
1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
